I came across this alfalfa field just after harvest, the air still carrying the scent of fresh-cut hay. The bales sat scattered across the land like quiet sentinels, each one marking the rhythm of the farmer’s work. What drew me in most were the two weathered, sun-bleached fence posts standing at the entrance — guardians of the field, inviting me to pause and take it all in. In that moment, the symmetry of the cut rows, the golden rolls, and the deep blue sky came together in perfect harmony, and I knew I had to make this photograph.
