Five-Window Glory

The Fat-Fendered GMC That Turns Heads

There’s just something about a fat-fendered classic truck that grabs my heart every time—and this fire engine red 1953 GMC Pickup is no exception. Part of GMC’s celebrated Advanced Design series, it sports the rare five-window “Deluxe Cab,” a clever mid-century innovation that erased rear blind spots and made the cab feel airy and open. This particular example has been restored and customized with exceptional care, from its blazing red paint to the chrome that catches the light just right. And then there’s my favorite touch—those unmistakable Chevy rally wheels, borrowed from the golden era of muscle cars like the Corvette, giving this vintage workhorse a subtle performance flair. It’s a perfect blend of form, function, and nostalgia, making it an irresistible subject for any classic truck photography collection.
